Mental Health First Aid
Identify. Understand. Respond.
Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance use challenges.

This basic course on mental health and substance abuse conditions will give you the skills to notice and engage individuals experiencing these symptoms. Through engagement, you can offer understanding and invite them to expand their care team with resources that can help ease their suffering. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of this course. This course is foundational and part of the training curriculum for NCServes Providers & Staff, Peer Supports, and Community Stakeholders.

In-person and virtual options will be available and updated below. If you’d like to sign up for a group/organization email Alex O’Neil with the Governor’s Institute at alex@govinst.org.

Each training session is limited to 30 registrants, and the sessions are all free of charge.
