This basic course on mental health and substance abuse conditions will give you the skills to notice and engage individuals experiencing these symptoms. Through engagement, you can offer understanding and invite them to expand their care team with resources that can help ease their suffering. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of this course. This course is foundational and part of the training curriculum for NCServes Providers & Staff, Peer Supports, and Community Stakeholders.

What to expect: This basic course on mental health and substance abuse conditions will give you the skills to notice and engage individuals experiencing these symptoms which cause suffering. Through engagement, you can offer understanding and invite people to expand their care team with resources that can help. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of this course. While CEUs are not offered for this class, most professional licensing boards accept non-accredited (APA, NASW, etc) training like this for a portion of annual training requirements. Class will be limited to 30 people. Registration will close on September 20th to allow trainers to enroll participants into a portal through which they complete a pre and post survey. Bring your own lunch or $10 for a Pizza Party. Participants are encouraged to stay in place for 30 minute lunch break to support early release from class. All participants will earn a Mission Changing Lives Together Coin (North Carolina’s Governor’s Challenge) upon completion of this 8 hour class in honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness month!
