Junell L. McCall, Ph.D., CPTM Education and Training Manager of VSS Program

Dr. McCall is a highly skilled educator with over 20 years of teaching and training experience in  K-12 and higher education, corporate and the non-profit sectors. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum Studies and is a Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), which demonstrates her deep expertise in instructional design and eLearning. She has a proven track record of success creating engaging and comprehensive eLearning solutions that motivate participants and meet program outcomes. She is passionate about helping learners achieve their goals and is committed to providing high-quality educational experiences.

Subject Matter Experts & Trainers

Justin Johnson, MD

Dr. Justin Johnson is a board-certified psychiatrist and the Director of Veteran and First Responder Services at HopeWay in Charlotte. He is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve, where he serves as Command Psychiatrist for USACAPOC(A) at Ft Liberty. He is an expert in military/Veteran mental health.

Christina L. Vair, Ph.D.

Dr. Christina L. Vair is a licensed clinical psychologist. With over 13 years of experience working with Veterans, Dr. Vair currently serves as the Whole Health Clinical Director for the Salisbury VA Health Care System and Clinical Champion Co-lead with the VA’s national Integrative Health Coordinating Center.

Jennifer Melton

Jennifer Melton is currently serving as the Director of Suicide Prevention for ABCCM – Veterans Services of the Carolinas. Suicide prevention and mental health awareness has been a passion of Jennifer’s as she has experienced her own struggles with mental health issues. Jennifer has been working in the nonprofit space and focused on suicide prevention since 2018.

Cindy Greenlee, Ph.D.

Dr. Cindy Greenlee is the Division Chief of Behavioral Medicine at the Durham VA Health Care System, and is also the VISN 6 Co-Lead for Primary Care Mental Health Integration. Her clinical interests include early mental health identification, intervention, and prevention, the integration of mental health and Primary Care, and evidence-based psychotherapy for chronic illness.

Marie Stewart, MSW, LCSW

Marie Stewart has served as the Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator and a Women’s Mental Health Social Worker at the Durham VA Healthcare System. She is part of the comprehensive Women’s Health Mental Health Program providing individual and group therapy for Veterans and former service members, who are survivors of Military Sexual Trauma. She has worked at the Durham VA Health Care System for 15 years.

Mike McGuire, LCSW

Michael McGuire is employed by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work as a Clinical Associate Professor and the Director of the Substance Use and Addiction Specialty program. He is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Clinical Addictions Specialist, and Motivational Interviewing Network Trainer. He has 29 years of experience in the field.

JD Demers

JD Demers is an award winning producer, actor & voice artist, host, and film/TV/New Media Producer, on-set safety as well as a Media Futurist. He has over 28 years of experience working behind and in front of the camera. He also served as a faculty advisor to Living Arts College, and Piedmont Community College, and as an adjunct faculty at a number of other learning institutions. He is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild and The American Federation of Television Recording Artists.
